Seiko 6306, Please Advice

So, I've been offered to acquire this rare piece for about sgd 500. I think there's tons of work to take this baby back to it's prime condition. The price is negotiable, probably shave off another 100 or 150 off from the listed price ? If, bros here can acquire this piece for 350 to 400, would you take it ?

No point. Movement looks badly corroded.

Pretty nice original 6306.

In my opinion , if you can manage to squeeze to $350. Its a good buy.



6306 are hard to find.

@the chef: i think it's just the balance wheel that's badly corroded and i think it's easy to find a balance wheel that will fit into this type of movement (this is as far as my naked eyes can see though, don't know how bad the other parts in there are doing)



@tanwill: yeah, i think i might have to shave at least another $100 off from the listed price



please note in the last picture though, that the dial is blotched.. the moist leakage in this piece is pretty bad, wonder why the previous owners never bother to look after the gaskets :(

From the last pic.... the moist on dial can still be cleaned up as the moist had not penetrate through the dial..... 6306 is hard to come by nowaday which u knew liaoz.... even at SGD500 is still consider a good price at that condition provided the movt is in good working order..... cosmetically looked ok to me except the rotor but then the rotor can be easily replaced. ;)

if you can get from 300+ SGD then go for it. but even if 500SGD ,also can consider as 6306 sale isnt an everyday sight even in various big overseas forums.. I like the way the dial is,hands and bezel also ok and these are the characteristics of this watch. As long as its running well,smooth movement with decent power reserve for a vintage seiko diver,why not?



corrosion/pitting on rotor plate can be check periodically for any signs of further damage if needed just get another plate to change lor..

@watchlooker: i think the blotches here actually penetrated the 1st defense of the dial, the 1st thin plastic cover of the dial itself. This blotch is the only thing that's keeping me off from pulling the trigger.



@oOsiMm: with regards to the performance of the watch, i'd just have to buy the seller instead of the watch, but so far he's on the good side :)



Now, if i take this to Mr. Goh, do you think he can give this watch the complete cleanup (like take the whole movement down, clean it, oil it, put it back together and regulate it ?) I've heard great things about Mr. Goh but havent got a slight idea as to how far to an extent his services goes to.. I'd probably ask for gasket change too and pressure testing if it's possible.

I think i'm gonna pass on this 6306, its gonna be too much work for another diver watch.. Gonna save ammo for a CNY watch, and seiko chronos
