me also gt encounter lowballers before so my disclaimer -"lowballers will be quietly ignored" - stands.

at the end of the day, "market rate" as opposed to "cost" is secondary, a deal is transacted as long as seller-buyer agrees on the price.

Interesting Thread. I have only two FS's that sold successfully but the process of negotiations can be quite funny and irritating because either the potential buyer did not read or trying their luck. They can come out with funny excuses to LB you. Some time, I see also laff off my head. I must also admit that I am a indecisive buyer and sometime made a bro here quite :? .... But end of the day as long my guide is no LB but agreed on a win-win price for both parties is good enough.

I have a slightly different aspect to this thread. To me I am ok with lowballer or seller selling above cost. End of the day, it is the seller or buyer responsibility to have a happy transaction. If seller is willing or buyer is willing, why not.



But what I really hate is once u confirmed the price, don't fxxk bargain again on the spot. Don't give excuses like bring not enough money or father mother sick and need money ...... I really hate this kind.

i dun usually 'bargain' with online sellers.



If they cite firm $1000, i'll just contact if i'm getting at $1000.

if they cite firm $1000 and for the past 6 mths or so they cannot sell out, i'll msg them to ask if their price is negotiable now, and if so, what their best price is.



i try not to give an exact quote, unless the piece is a popular piece and i see alot dealing at that price.

OK! it just came to me and I need to confess.



There was a watch that checked specs online with Lunarin79. It was gd and I confirmed with him at his asking price.



I arrived at his workplace in tuas, then put the watch on my wrist. Alamak, smaller than i expected.



Want to buy, I will not feel gd. Dun wanna buy, I also feel bad! Sorry bro! I owe u a meal and kopi as promised! But till today, no chance to cross path. :(

Sometimes buyers got to understand the rule of this game & the difference btwn a seller n a buyer. When I list a watch, stated deal only in west. Some buyers still can ask me can meet them at their area anot.. Busy tahan these pple.. If is SC bros, I can make exceptional cases but most of the time, SC bros deals usually are the smoothest.

Personally, I would typically offer price within 10% of the asking price. Don't know if that is considered low-balling?



However, sometimes, hard not to LB when you suspect that the seller has just gotten the item off someone else at a lower price then what he is selling for.. Sincere seller, I would respect their asking, but If the seller is out to make a profit, then I don't see why I shouldn't maximize my returns as well.



The other type is people who either keep selling the same item over and over again, or somehow, just can't seem to sell off their item (probably because people don't think it's a good price?). For these, I either treat them as commercial entities, or offer what I felt is reasonable item to see if they are willing to let go.

Ok, we had our fun, I think it's time to stop it. :)



Whatever list that's out there, I hope it will be reduced and eventually no SC bros are within the list with the exception of Famous Toby.



Locking this thread now but I hope it serves as a reminder to those who still wants to low ball.
