Warranty mismatch

Warranty mismatch
Hi need all your expert advise on my small dilemma..

I just bought a seiko SNZH59J1 from King Wah and I'm really satisfied with my hoot. But the problem now is the warranty card states a different model number! It's not that I didn't check before leaving, I even asked the owner (Andy) why the number is different and he just said not to worry 'coz it's just the casing serial number. Since I'm a total noob at watches i just happily accepted his explanation.

So should I go back to King Wah and demand the correct warranty card? or will Thong Sia accept this if the time comes I need to send the watch back? Any members here experienced the same thing?

Thanks :)
Re: Warranty mismatch
I've never had the warranty carry the model number, only the case number and the serial number (both of which are on the case-back). In this case, it should read something like 7S36-XXXX.
Re: Warranty mismatch
Hi CoolieND,

Ok I'll disregard the model number, but still watch itself is a 7S36 then card says 7S26-XXXX

How do you know the watch you bought is "J" version? If I'm not wrong, Thong Sia does not carry "J" version. Theirs is "K" version.
Re: Warranty mismatch
If the warranty is filled in and dont tally with the informations of the watch(caseback serial number, model number) then means wrong riao and shouldnt have happen....IMO a misunderstanding of question asked hence the explanation...

best is show your card and caseback pics...

@yeoman - dial has markings 'made in Japan' and also on the caseback..I asked the owner he confirm got from thong Sia

@oOsiMm - just find it strange he didnt double check even after I ask why there's some discrepancy with the card..but i'm sure this just a small misunderstanding as I know king wah is quite a reputable seller :) will post some pics later..
Re: Warranty mismatch

I still think that your "J" version with Arab day display is a parallel import set. Not Thong Sia's goods.

maybe that's the reason why I was given a "wrong" certificate? Because no local warranty to begin with? :?:

does the serial number on the watch match the serial number on the card?

Nope different also...looks like I must go back KW and ask for correct certificate
Re: Warranty mismatch
OT a bit.

i went KW today as well. no more casio, fortis, seagull. not A SINGLE G SHOCK, FORTIS OR SEAGULL

orient and citizen was moved to side showcase.

CENTRE showcase was rather empty as well.....

seiko seems not very replenished.

andy says fortis and casio all bought up by dealers??? seagull coming new range....
Re: Warranty mismatch
Yah not a lot of stocks...is he shifting or something?
Re: Warranty mismatch
ok just to update, warranty card replaced already after 1 week wait so all is good :D

but now the problem is different, had a short chat with Andy and looks like he is closing shop...KW only open up to end of the year..he said need to attend to some family matter...that explains why no more replenishing of stocks :(

let's hope KW will continue business some time in the future...
