7s36 break in period?

7s36 break in period?
Hey all!

Just joined the seiko club not too long ago... Was wondering if the 7s36 has a break in period? The black monster I got 2 weeks ago is keeping excellent time(+5-10 sec/day) while my week old mini monster is gaining 45 seconds or more per day. Is this normal, or do I have a cause for worry? Would like to hear from all you seasoned seiko collectors. Thanks in advance!

Glad to hear u r expanding your Seiko collection.

But sorry to tell u that gaining 45 sec is not normal. If its under warranty, best utilize your warranty and get TS to rectify.

Hey thanks for the reply! I actually got it from ah goh, so I guess I'll bring it back to him. Will monitor for the next few days to get a more accurate gauge of how much it's actually gaining...

While on the outer limits, +45 is not unheard of from 7S family. The 7s26 movement is rated at +45 / -35 sec/day... Warranty may not cover. You'd have to play on the seller's / AD's good side to get that covered...

It is uncommon, though; I think of my 15 or so 7S's, highest I've seen is +30-ish.

thanks for the info! i'm sure that ah goh wont hesitate to help in this case, but i think i'll just keep monitoring it in the meantime. worse comes to worst, i'll probably send it in for regulating.
