I have a progue whose minute hands came loose.. :cry:



Called Mr Goh and he doesn't repair this..

no PPC is opposite lucky chinatown..lucky chinatown is quite a small building by itself,level one outside got a mcdonalds can see from roadside and a watchshop along the alley(they also got another branch at chinatown market area,5 mins walk). This building is alongside the bah kwa /frog porridge/ makan paradise shophouses

he's a serious man, no nonsense attitude....



i went with a friend to repair his watch before, not as bad as said.



Just that he's not so friendly like his bro, K2. He just dont like to entertain.



Just tell him the problem of the watch or just want to svc bcos lose time/accuracy.



It will be ready in a week. His svc price is a bit lower than k2, most likley bcos of his lower renthal.



We left the place in less than 15 min.



Oh, his nato and zulu are quite cheap also if not lower than k2, if ya nearer to him, can buy there lo.

normally hands should not come out.



I learnt from K2 before when i wanted to buy dial and hands to change for a better cosmetic look.



He told me, chrono hands are more difficult compare to conventional basic 3 hands movt . the snap back is the most challenging to do.



Lets say he charge you $15( i agar agar) will you think its too ex?? and if the hands come off again, which is likley cos it has come off once, what will you think of his skills??



ill say its a job that requires skills but hard to earn and may lose his reputation.



Ceo has a white helmet send in to change dial and hands, 2 mths, haven get back, cos another thing, Goh is just too busy with his walk in repairs.



I had a vintaGE send to him after CNY, his price made me paiseh, i told him take his own time, i dun need it any time soon, it came back to me 2 weeks ago.I'm not complaining, cos the watch keeps good time has good power reserve now.



Sometimes i hang around there, some ppl turn up and Goh decline them, partly due to reasons i mentioned.



The price he charge for seiko or even rolex or swiss made is quite unheard of in sg. Thus of overwhelming repair jobs he has on hand.

there's a few watch makers ard, the same place xiao chun operate, has 2 more watchmakers i think.



bencoolen also has 1 guy, tekka market also has 1, dun ask me their stds , cos i haven not used them b4....

Na, no question about cost.



However, he just reject the Seiko Chrono once I have told him over the phone.



He thinks only when I want to overhaul it, then he will fix it togehter.



Might not be really worth the effort..

i think ur explanation describes most of the situation very well.



Some stuff can only be accessed on site,how to quote unless you are specific of what you want to do?? (eg, change a crystal for a specific watch model, svc a specific model)



if owner think its too much time to bring down, it means the watch is not yet of importance or priority to owner to get it fixed yet !

I think there might be some misunderstanding in fixing the hands of the chrono.



I have a similar problem too, he say most likely is the clip behind broken or something like that. To fix that problem, he need to take apart the whole movt before can see the clip. So it is effectively a full overhaul and servicing in his point of view. So he will say if running not spoilt, dun fix, unless u want to do a full servicing, then he can take apart to take a look what happen.



Full servicing is btw 100 - 200 if I am not wrong and depends on if any parts need changing and if any spares are available.

If insist 1 2 knw the repair cost...:)

$5k overhaul the whole eng n if Radiator crack xtra charge 2 renew.

Ideally, there's non near to you.



Bradell heights, do you live along bradell road, the private estate, or near to bradell heights community centre?



Either way, you have to get on to the mrt, get to NE or circles line (nearest to you: lor chuan, serangoon,woodleigh)



To get to town,raffles place, Jw does most brands, and quite friendly, though waiting time is very long. U can google JW watch, they pop up.... Take note they open on certain days of the week only, supposeldy 2,4,6.

Their price is on the high side, but lower than the usual watch agents like Rolex, Omega, Richemont( all the swiss brands under them)



K2, you have to get on circle line, get off at paya lebar,walk over to tangong katong complex.

Goh's price is quite good as compared outside, but as expected, some have been declined off by him here. due to his overwhelming jobs.



Dont bother to call him for quotes, at the end of the day, he likes to quote you on the job, after taking a look at the watch and possible after opening the caseback.



For for each watch agents, just google them, most should have an office in sg, most charge very high, yet does not show the kind of workmanship for the prices they charge!! yes, some horror stories have been said about them, watches came back with some more scratches!!

My Seiko Kenetic's crown came loose every time when I adjust the date or time. Does Thong Sia do repair? Or can any watch repair shop do it?
