Just a question. Do you guys buy multiple copies of the same watch?



I do. :D and i was wondering if anyone out there does the same thing?



This friday, i am meetng shaggyangel and i am buying another GOLD Tuna. This will be my 3rd pc and i am still thinking of getting as many as i can if my funds allowed.

I think it's acceptable if you have lots of interest in that particular model/(and funds)

Tunas don't come cheap, so not particularly for me. :P

I did that with a particular Vostok Amphibian model. I got 4 pieces of them. (For those interested, it's the Black Radio Room model, very popular)



After a while, I realised, I'm just holding onto them without doing much and I sold 3 of them, leaving just one pieces.



But for rare pieces like golden tuna, I think if funds allowed, it's always good to have a 2nd or 3rd piece for safe keeping ;)

I try not to buy doubles but sometimes the price n desire to own is there...as long its afforadable,right price and some watch not to be missed,I be very much tempted to buy one more...

I DO!!! Even it doesn't make financial sense to own multiples. :lol: Do set strict guidelines & these must be met prior to acquiring it.



I'm considering my second 6159 if the right one pops up.

sure, u can buy as many pieces of the same copy of a watch as u please. however each additional piece u buy will deprive another guy from obtaining one. isn't it a mighty waste then? to have the same watches lying in your box untouched while another guy can't get his hands on one to appreciate it? just my $0.02. no offence to those who have this habit. ;)

Most of my watches look different, but only 2 model identical copies, the SNZG17 both K and J, and a SWATCH SERGIO CHRONO L.E with the Golf ball(too bad that the center black rubber links of the bracelet erode off liaoz). Otherwisw like brudder fireal here, mostly different variations.

I define same watch as having the same dial, country of make etc, so really same same.. and my answer is yes. For that matter I would also buy multiple copies of other things (comics, apartments, toys, bags, stocks etc).



For me there are two intertwined lines of logic: one is collection-driven, the other is investment-driven. Collection-driven purchases are for spares, and to satisfy the desire to have a piece for wearing and a piece for keeping. Investment-driven purchases are for potential capital appreciation, and the purchases are usually mechanical, triggered by price, and devoid of any emotional motivation of owning that particular item.
