Make your own leather strap

Does anyone here know where I can make custom leather strap. I have a pair of really old leather shoe which aged well. Very similar to this

I tried going to a shop that make leather bag and belt but when I ask, they say price to low to justify to make the strap for me :cry:

Looking at the price.. quality leather products comes with a hefty price tag too :lol:



Phantom has a friend who's runs a pushcart stall at Iluma (if that is still current), helped phantom to customise some leather straps, very rugged looking.

did you go to heereen or illuma?? both are jap/korea prices.....

former can be said to be the best leather craftsman in sg liao....., while latter is a shop that ask various craftsman in sg, full time or part time to do his orders....



heereen guy can make 24mm pam straps very nice......, but at orchard rd prices.... his is really nice and well craft even at the lugs( he's a pam fan and owner as well)



my fren has a shop in jln kledek.... the chinese with lotsa tatoo together with the old specky beer belly malay , they work from late afternoon till morning 4-5 am timing .....



if this 2 are ex, there's no wan in sg that can match their prices already.....(ceo had wanted to make a HP pouch by someone for like 140, my fren does it for 120) ( they dun do much watch straps, esp anything below 20mm, they usually dun do.... their croc and snake skin strap are quite reasonable. as for their plain normal looking, dun bother, just buy off the shelves....)





There's another guy in jurong pt that does exotic leather straps, i think u hear the prices his retail assistant quote, some may think their better off with the money buying $2-400 seiko



Most of the part time leather craftsman can do mostly wallets and key pouches only....



i do have to let you know, a sling bag easily cost 2-300, thats very normal...... a pouch 100++ to house just a hp....



u cannot use buy off the shelves to compare with such.....







Regardless of my fren or any leather craftsman in sg handmade everything from scratch, for the bag above, it usually takes 1-2 days work....



Say including the leather and accessories, and to cover back his own labour/rent...., typically, a person drawing a 2k pay is almost $100 per day







This is smaller but takes even longer time....



Cos i know 2-3 of them, i know the effort they put in for each product , thus i understand the prices they have to charge.....



This style and prices is usually for ppl quite into leathercraft, like us WIS.....



If ya those, who wants a normal HP pouch or ipad cover brought over the shelves and just wrap in genuine thick leather .



Most likley , you wun be able to accept their prices.....

Illuma is a shop, i know him as well, through this leather craft fren of my......., he has lotsa bags of diff size and shape he uses personally done by my fren.......

Thanks bro phantom. I will pop by heereen or illuma when I am free. Thing is I am bring my own leather so I am not sure if they are willing to charge me just for workmanship.

There's just nobody at his scale n quality in sg since few years back.
