Seiko 5 military

Seiko 5 military
Hey guys where can i find this model for the cheapest in sg? and may i ask....is the 40mm seiko 5 military only comes in green dial?? lastly this watch for army can anot? afraid cant coz of stainless steel case....not black in colour....thanks
Re: Seiko 5 military
In camp, in most activities you're not allowed to put on any wrist watches if i'm not wrong. This is due to the intense use of your wrist in various training that may entangle to any equipment that you're carrying. I once seen a fellow company mate's watch entangled with the rifle strap buckle, that almost caused him to fall...

Anyway, no matter any watch you put onto your wrist, it doesn't matter as there's no particular "wrist dress code" to follow.

The SEIKO's 5 sports "military" watch with nylon strap come in four major colored dial, black, blue, beige and green dial, with pairing black, blue, beige and green nylon straps. There's no bead blast bracelet option available. The black dial with stainless steel bracelet you may have seen elsewhere is brushed surface, not bead blast.

For your reference... you may refer to this link... (non warrantied MIJ piece is available @ Mustafa @ $130 gst inclusive.)

Re: Seiko 5 military
Best to get a cheap digital watch. Can use the stopwatch function and less heartache if its covered in scratches. Nylon strap will also stink like hell and all the fine sand and grit will be stuck in the strap, rubbing against your skin on your wrist when outfield.

Resin strap you rinse with water wipe with your shirt, settled liao. Nylon strap must wash properly so no leftover grit in the strap. Having your skin rubbed raw is really annoying when you're outfield for few days. Then once the strap gets wet, it will also constantly be damp.

Just get a basic g-shock. DW9052, DW5600, DW6900. All from Bencoolen about $65+.

Most people wore a Casio F91W when I was serving. Only paid $18 for mine. But my platoon mates bought an imitation one from Bugis St for $5. Some of them still wear it for reservist.

I wore a steel case, white dial ana-digi timex with brown strap when I was a 2nd year soldier in combat vocation. But I wore a Casio F91W for BMT and the whole of my first year. Destroyed them both eventually. Just get a g-shock and save $$$.
Re: Seiko 5 military
I cant wear gshocks....the strap cause rashes......so far the only watches i looking at is luminox, tawatec or seiko 5......seiko 5 i will change the nato strap to silicone deployment.....hmmmm i would like to have warantee....this watch im getting is for thrasing....so wont care if scratch crack or whatever haha....any shop to recommend?
Re: Seiko 5 military
if u are getting a watch for rough use, i would say just get any cheapo watch will do, instead of spending over 100 bucks for a fine watch to thrash.

Well... if you can afford to "trash" Luminox or TAWATEC which are priced @ $350 0r more... other SEIKO makes should not be an issue to you even without warranty liaoz....
Re: Seiko 5 military
What other seiko would u recommend......the reason i wanna choose seiko is so i can save abit off comapred to the luminox or tawatec..if not i would just go with those two brands le......this watch is only for army....i got other watches for everyday....i understand it does not make sense to get a expensive watch....but the gshocks straps gives be bad rashes....thus after researchng....the seiko 5 military is cheap and good....

You only allergic to the resin straps and not silicon? If thats the case, get any basic digital Casio or Timex with standard lug widths and switch to silicon strap.

If you get an automatic watch it may gain or lose time. If it loses time, you can look forward to extra PT. Also, much more convenient to time your runs with a digital watch.

If you're going army, the light button can be used to find lost buddies when break contact outfield.
Re: Seiko 5 military
Depends on the quality of the strap.....the case also play a part....the rubber case.....which is y i only like metal case or carbon reinforced.....haix sensitive skin so mafan

Well... perhaps i have missed out those watches that are in the quartz category... i have not seen any military themed watches from the quartz side except...

SNN233 or SNN237 flieger chrono that comes with bracelet. The cheapest i saw is @ $150/pc but without warranty

haha, u cannot use a workhorse 7S26 movt to determine whether to get a Grand Seiko ;)

it's totally different league between a seiko 5 & a Grand Seiko ;)

these GS SD, Ananta are consider the top end pieces, $10k & 13k respectively
