Hoot of the Day
Was mooching ard at Mustapa after going to JB just now (On "off" today and Tuesday, so was bored :P )



Saw this interesting piece, saw the price and hooted it... Seiko SNDC31P1







Cream dial, chrono, arabic numerals.... all i wanted in a watch (poisoned by one of the SC bro's SCEA watch; but no more in market liao :( ) .

Too bad its abit small (38mm, would be perfect if it was 40mm). If it was solar powered or auto, would have been THE watch liao... :lol:





BTW, saw a few of Ah Goh's cyclops at mustapa. They even have the bracelet and the PVD rose gold version. Ard 300-400++ :D

They even have Seiko Solar Divers and Chrono now... The divers look abit like the SKX 171 and their chono got a nice clean paper white dial version (but it was 400++)

Thanks. Not the same person... Okies is just Seiko spelt backwards. 'Okies' was taken so I opt for 'Okies65' - hope that does not confuse the bros here. Was googling about the BFK and stumbled to this forum... Thought that I will get the BFK as a beater and that's it for a while... but the pics and bros here are poisoning me...

U may want to try Twinkle (selling at sli cheaper than mustapa) as suggested by one of the bros here..

Or u may want to look at the paper white dial Solar chrono Seiko.. quite nice piece also. (but more ex)

the one we saw ytd is the 7a38.



SCEA001 is a discon JDM Spirit quartz chronograph i got through the help of Seiya-san in Japan.



it has nice cream textured dial, silver subdials with blue hands at [3], [6] & [9].

here is mine on a croc strap:

He fixed the 1/10s subdial for me.

the dial isn't really matte white. i'd describe it as silvered, much like the silvered opalline dial of the santos 100, jin jia swee man.

bo leh, i deleted from photobucket after I sold the watch.... (on sg-roc). This piece also has the same same opalline dial, same as the polar 7A38, can see the dial more clearly right? Natural lighting without flash.

yah ladies', but a discontinued size which is larger than what we see now. The face you see here is the "bling"face with 32 (iirc) wesselton grade diamonds. The other face is not bling. Both faces can be set to show different timezones :)in-house JLC calibre

Reviving this thread cos i dun wanna start new ones. So I went to the post office today, collected a package. Ripped open the plastic and bubble wraps and found a shy looking 7548 7000 inside.



He peeped at me and we exchanged glances. I admired his quartz movement and adjusted his hands to the correct time zone. Screw down crown, bi-directional bezel, there were some skirmishes and light scratches on the case, but nothing deep or serious. Removed the rubber strap and gave it a good hot water + mild soap scrub on an ol toothbrush.



At first the other divers were curious about who this new fella was. Being automatic movements, they were intrigued with this quartz movement diver. It didnt take long for them to get aquainted and soon they decided to take a group photo to commemorate the occassion:





They are excited with their newest brother.

Was picking up my wife from work last night, the aircon was blowing at my wrist. I saw there was condensation forming in the crystal :shock: :cry:



So I got home and opened the case back(Case back was a bit loose) maybe some moisture went in when I was washing the strap. Gasket was intact and in reasonable condition, pulled out the crown and removed the movement. Used some scotch tape and cleaned the inside of the crystal, wiped the inside of the case back as well.



As I was fixing back the movement, noticed the hands and the markers were different color... lol the hands were newer, but they glowed with the same brightness as the markers nevertheless...



Will give it the aircon test again, maybe tonight... So far watch is keeping time :)

New hoot today: picked up my first LordMatic from antiquewatch.

The 5606 movt is nice and it's my first Seiko with kanji day!!



Clean silver sunburst dial. No lume. Sexy case lines.

Can't ask for more!!
