My little Sumo (SBDC001)
Hi All,As I need to chalk up 25 posts before I can begin to truly utilise the full potential of this forum. I have decided to take the opportunity to post a few pictures of my Seiko Black Sumo. This is the SBDC001, it has a black dial, the SBDC003 has a blue dial and the SBDC005 has an orange dial.
SBDC001 and 003 were supposed to come in bracelets, while the Orange Sumo generally comes with the diver's rubber strap. As my Sumo is not brand new, when it was given to me it was already on an original Seiko rubber strap. the moment I set eyes on this beauty I knew I was hooked. It has nice curves, much like a sexy chick. The case is a mix of polished and brushed finish, it appears there was alot of thought put into the design as the blend of brushed and polished finish blends very nicely. The glass face is curved, was told that this is sapphire crystal? Or was it supposed to be Hardlex? Anyway, the glass is curved slightly like a slight dome shape. This has a magnifying effect and makes the dial easier to see. I need to mention how amazing the luminosity on this baby is. Charge it under white light for a few minutes and turn off the light. The luminous bits shine like a torch! Serious glow there, I guess this watch was really designed for diving. It has a rotating bezel that rotates anticlockwise, one full revolution gives you a perfect 120 clicks. I have to mention this is not my first Seiko, however it remains one of my favourite.
