Buy/Sell section of the forum for newbies

Buy/Sell section of the forum for newbies
Hi All,

Saw a watch in the buy/sell section that I would like to enquire about, however because I am new, I can't post reply nor PM the owner of the thread.

Could any bros advise what should I do to contact the owner of that thread?

Thanks in advance! :)

Jon
Re: Buy/Sell section of the forum for newbies
The easiest way is to increase your activity here :)

Unless that owner leave an email or mobile no, the next best thing is PM which you need a post count of 25.

25 is easily achievable, you already clocked 3 posts since 4pm :)
Re: Buy/Sell section of the forum for newbies
hehe, ok thanks bro, I'll try to increase my post count then, however I was refraining from creating unecessary posts just for the purpose of increasing my post count to 25.

Having said that, it does seem if I wish to be able to access the full potential of the forums I would first have to meet the minimum criteria.

Unfortunately I checked the profile of the other forum member, there are no contact details listed.

Thanks for the reply and advice bro!

Re: Buy/Sell section of the forum for newbies
Established contact already! Yay! Hooted! Will meet bro Lunarin tomorrow for the transfer. Thanks again Aiken bro! Your 7A38 also looks very tempting leh, but I have a 7A38 too but gold and silver tone. I'm looking to buy/trade a 7A38 with one that has like a gold pentagonal bezel, silver dial, ss bracelet.

Saw one a week ago at another forums going for USD120, but by the time I saw it, it was hooted liao! Damn fast, maybe 2-3 hrs? But no too disappointed as seller only wanted to sell into CONUS.

Re: Buy/Sell section of the forum for newbies
Btw, I'm posting this as there's a concern about posting each other mobile numbers here.

I know some of us post our mobile numbers in our sales thread, but not all of us do that, so I hope you don't share a SC bro mobile number openly without his permission if he didn't post his number before. ;)

I know this is a closed knitted community where we have each others mobile number but do practise a bit privacy when posting it. ;)

A month back I read on hardwarezone that K2 had a pair to sell, but when I called K2(a week after the posting) Mr Goh says someone hooted already. Asked him the price, he says usually around $200+ a piece. I missed the boat

Re: Buy/Sell section of the forum for newbies
It's not about helpful or red card la, aiyo aiken, johnwong, please don't take my post as a warning.

We are all helpful to each other requests but just be mindful about giving out mobile numbers as *i repeat again* not everybody is so chin chai with their mobile number as it's considered personal.
Re: Buy/Sell section of the forum for newbies
cos maybe I think we sometimes out of the blue will receive weird sms/phonecalls from some watever company right? then will think how the hack they get our number... also internet forum frauds/misuse of personal info are obviously on the rise.. we all bros here,we trust each other but there might be new "members" who registered one time and then never make any post though sometimes might be online(if u knw wat I mean),what would be their intentions then?

play safe lor..if need be,communicate via PM lor..
Re: Buy/Sell section of the forum for newbies
oh also one opinion when we are SIC-ing hoots especially from overseas forum;

I have the habit of doing a google or using forum searches for any info regard deals done by new members or members with low post count before we actually SIC in SCS. Not to say high post member is to be taken straight away as a legit seller but play safe n do some check before we actually sic any watches.

If its a oldtimer seasoned seller or those we bought watches from before,it be much safer.

Else,it can be a heads up alert on watches on any matter.

*main reason why I mentioned this is because we do have members with little online/overseas forum buying experiences. So they might put trust in what the more experienced member is SIC-ing... worst if something wrong with deal cos maybe seller is a wolf in sheep clothing, then we also feel bad..
Re: Buy/Sell section of the forum for newbies
i believe roo is just suggesting his opinions, not fingerpointing anybody here. :)

i tinkthe best method is. Take my case for example.

- John is looking for my contact.

- aiken read his post

- aiken sms me, ask me if i'm ok for him to pass my num to John(if I'm offline)

this is what i usually practice :D

no lah bro... actually I think this acts as a good opportunity to raise awareness of internet security loopholes and let forumers realise anyone can get out info easily of they want via search engines/forums.

Just look how EDMWers can CSI out ppl's real name,hp nu,work place and even home address via search engines..and wouldnt take long to find all these unless personal particulars are closely guarded. Remember once in a while,we get spammers( "new members") in SCS  so what's next?

Re: Buy/Sell section of the forum for newbies
Just met up with Bro Lunarin79, we had a cuppa at Toastbox Vivo. Great guy, great chat, an hour just whizzed past. I got the watch i wanted and its now hugging my wrist.

SKX001 running nicely, now considering purchasing a new crystal from cousins UK and experiment to replace it myself, haha. If all else fails just bring the parts to K2 and ask Mr. Goh for help.

Thanks Lunarin bro, was great meeting you!
