Reference Clock

Just wondering if anyone uses any reference clock?



When people talk about accuracy, where do they reference to?

Yes, it's based in the USA, but it's appears to have good accuracy, and gives the time instantly, as vs the SST website, which takes a couple of seconds to calibrate. Also can do non-Java @ time.gov (disable Java option in top right corner).

usually i use my accutron as a reference ! cos its just on my desk and keeps time to the dot

this huan cannot connect huan... always use my server time.. :(

I reference to my BOSS' watch. His time is the most accurate, and always correct.

I ish refer to timeanddate.com :(

I use ERP gantry timing, this one most impt for motorists de. you think ERP off liao according to all these websites, never insert cash card or not enough money but gantry still onz then sianz liao.



Try appealing to LTA say you use website to synchronise watch, they will tell you go fly kite... $10 bye bye. :(

My iPhone :oops: :oops:

I use internet sources and NTP as mentioned above. Quite OK, except that I don't understand why Windows PCs often have problems reaching time servers, (using the built in feature in the clock settings).



Also I note that Starhub appears to give time sync to phones that is roughly 1 minute ahead of correct time. (i.e. if you use the "Use network-provided values" in your phone settings).

If you are obsessive about knowing the correct time, you might want to check against internet time servers, since at least some telcos can't be bothered to set up their clocks correctly.



I haven't noticed ERP time being off. I assumed it is synced within 1 second of UTC, since this is so cheap to do with today's computer networks.
