so u hooted this WUS 1000m Orient ar :twisted:
Re: Message from Orient president
ya lor...cos I wanted a diver different from others like case design ,something historical. And this 1965 orient 1000m king diver with 27J calibre 4971 stood out. I've noticed this one since it was posted on day 1 and have been communicating with seller,asking lots of questions regarding conditions and double confirming the movt calibre and reassuring the dial nt redial etc.

This kinda baby panerai casing is somehow attractive to me ,dome crystal,unique straight lugs with screw in strap bar(I dont mind even if its springbar type or fixed lug like military watch)but this is what its made unique. Look at WUS main page on the top right corner,this SAS watch certainly looks like the similar case design too.

Though it doesnt have a 1000m type of crown(screw in) but perhaps a marketing gimmick during the 60's..its still a historical piece. Read in local forum that the Orient serivce center has this watch in its showcase .

There are many articles I've read in the few days before I confirmed the purchase;

S-Exciting times ahead =D

But orient lacks a good auto chronograph series leh... Their only offering is more ex than Seiko :cry:
Re: Message from Orient president
You know what's really interesting? They look to have pulled the Orient Star 300m WZ0181EL/WZ0191EL models.... now the only 300m Divers (as listed in the brochures & website) are the same as the ones sold in the USA, black & Orange w/ the Orient 'Coat of Arms'.

Interesting...

Well, if you're hankering for a yellow Orient Sat Diver, better act now! ;)

Guess the Orient Clubman is more expensive than the Brightz Phoenix Chrono (less power reserve indicator), but on par with the next Brightz Phoenix w/ PR indicator & certainly less than a Flightmaster (supposedly similar/same movement)...

Still, though, a ~$1000 Chrono would be nice! ;)
