GMT? confusing

"Yeoman"

When I took that picture, I set the hands such that each one points to a different direction. Didn't realize the 24 hour hand was in sync with the hour hand at 8 o'clock (read using the 24 hour markings on the dial). Ideally, it should be set away from 8 o'clock to show that it is a true GMT.



The hour and minute hands show the local time. The GMT hand when read against the 24 hour marking on the dial shows the time in a second timezone. In addition, you can set the rotating 24 hour bezel to show the time in a 3rd timezone. Therefore, this watch can keep track of time in 3 different timezones.

For a real GMT watch, you can set the GMT hands independently and it's always reflecting 24-hours.



For this Orient, I believe it's the new movement and allows the GMT hands to be set independently too, which is why I'm aiming at it.. :lol:

thanks yeoman for the explanation. Means from the pic, the local time is 8.07am or pm. The red gmt hand based on internal 24hr bezel is also 8.07 and the third timezone is also 8.07 based on the rotating bezel. Correct?
