Bro be careful if u wanna oil it, the mink oil will darken the colour of our 8138.

My 8138 colour now si sibeh dark!!!

last time when i was still in aust, i used Dubbin wax for my boots.

i have a can if you want to borrow to try.

i've not used it on my boots here, but try it on my leather straps :D

it conditions and waterproofs the leather. Dubbin has been around for a long long time as leather conditioner.

it doesnt discolor leather as much as mink oil.

let me know, i can pass it to you to try.

try not to use wax for shoes , it will make it less porous , less air go thru then not so comfortable. also tends to dry your shoes, its better to use shoe creams

but if your shoe got a lot of scratch marks and pot holes , then leather will be great to fill in all the marks

by the way do you bother whether your shoes are leather or rubber soled?

i only wear leather soled shoes for work , imo rubber shoes are too casual for work wear

i like Clarks.. both my work shoes are clarks.

its the longest lasting so far.

All the other work shoes i've had never lasted more than one year. the soles always gone case.

these include doc marts, rockport & hush puppies (rockports being the worst).

Agree bro!! There's always 3 brand in my mind that can be trusted & will last very long ; Red Wing, Clark & camper.... They Got solid soles & leather!!!

My 15 years old Red Wing still going strong, I luv it!!!

when i left them on my rack for a while, the soles disintegrated :o

it seems that camper faces this issues with their sole, when i went to the camper store at vivo & mentioned this problem, the SA just smiled & asked to to write a email to their main office...faint

my wife has a couple pairs of campers too. one has already died.

campers are not cheap either. :cry:

i hope my clarks DB will last. thogh the soles also doesnt seems to last, i already intend to resole it after i wore it out.

if u wear it everyday, the soles will not disintegrate, our case happened becos we left the shoe on the rack without wearing hence it disintegrates

afaik, clarks soles are quite durable :mrgreen:
