Thoughts on Seiko 5 Superiors using a 7S55 movt

Thoughts on Seiko 5 Superiors using a 7S55 movt
Am hunting for one now, it's apparently under the Seiko 5 Superiors line but only a few models uses this decorated movt.

I understand Yeoman & kohym owned these before, any thoughts on this model, worth the hunt for these series?

Less the decorated rotor & the red wordings & the supposedly 'rare' movt(lol)

it's really not much difference from 7s26/36s rite?

Tio... so smart.... AFAIK.... only the balance wheel is switched out to improve the accuracy..... but bo improvement in reality....
Re: Thoughts on Seiko 5 Superiors using a 7S55 movt
haha, i was thinking about the same too but the decorated rotor & the 'short term production' run of this model probably makes it interesting to hunt for 1 ba, provided i can find one ;)
Re: Thoughts on Seiko 5 Superiors using a 7S55 movt
yup, i owned one before. nothing to shout about.

the rotor red wordings and stripes make her quite unique and different fr the common ones. again i am not a movt fella so can't comment much here.

hunt for one? for the "unique" movt, why not? but from the front can't really tell. and they are not very big watches also.

i bought mine at that time from k2. parallel import one so no papers. not very expensive, wear for fun or keep to molest also can.

who knows some shops may still have! as i said from the front, it is just another seiko 5 Superior (not "SUPERIOR"), so may just escape roving eyes of WIS :)

good luck.
Re: Thoughts on Seiko 5 Superiors using a 7S55 movt
Before the 6R15 movement was introduced, the 7S55 was the furthest you can go before going to the 4S15. But underneath the nice rotor, it is a 7S movement in disguise and doesn't close the gap between the 4S and 7S.

So my advise is don't buy but instead look for something with a 6R15 movement or go straight to a 4S15. Besides, the 7S55 Superior model is neither here nor there. It doesn't have the vintage look and doesn't look modern either. Most importantly, it doesn't fit your "we fcuk the fake sh!t" image.
