Re: Omega cal. 1861 vs 1863
1863 movt should be more elaborated..decorated since its seen with display caseback but 1861 normally with normal caseback.

After googling...here's what I got;

http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=msg&th=1375990&start=0&rid=0#msg_num_2"http://forums.watchuseek.com/f20/speedy-pro-1861-1863-hesalite-vs-saphire-71616.html" rel="noopener noreferrer">http://forums.watchuseek.com/f20/speedy-pro-1861-1863-hesalite-vs-saphire-71616.html"http://jholbrook.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Talk&action=print&thread=4142" rel="noopener noreferrer">http://jholbrook.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Talk&action=print&thread=4142"Seventeen".

Apparently Omega put "Eighteen" on all the rhodium bridges and included the 18th on the 1861 as well as the 1863.

http://www.chronocentric.com/forums/omega/index.cgi?md=read;id=50" false;

Speedmaster Pro 1861 vs. 1863, what a brochure just in from Omega tells me both movements have 18 jewels, 45 hour power reserve, 21.6 frequency, and are based on the Lemania 1873 calibre. It further says both have white rhodium plated traditional chronograph movements with special waves. It describes the 1863 movement as 'deluxe version with additional waves.

Re: Omega cal. 1861 vs 1863
thk oOsiMm bro 4 de input...it seem that gt pro & cons 4 both 1861 & 1863 movt...

Pro 4 1863...

1863 hab de extra jewel.

1863 has an added extra jewel n de metal brake ish used 4 de chronograph mechanism

1863 movement more pleasing 2 look @^@

1863 movement as 'deluxe version wit additional waves.

1863 movt shd b more elaborated..decorated since its seen wit display caseback

Cons 4 1863...

dnside 2 usin a metal brake in that it does wear down over time n require oiling n oso nd 2 pay 2 replace de metal brake aft many yrs of use n servicing.

1861...

1861 hab de extra jewel.

the nylon break in de 1861 movement does nt wear dn

1861 normally wit normal caseback

btw i oso notis that 1861 ish usin Hesalite & 1863 ish usin Sapphire...it seem rike Hesalite ish much more better than Sapphire aft read tis link...

http://www.omega-addict.com/movement.html" false;

The current production of cal.861's uses a plastic part, which is not showed in the cal.861 movement below. The Speedmaster Professional which have the see-through case-back, use a Cal. 863. This is a cal.861 which was a bit restyled for better looks. The plastic part has disapeard in the cal. 863. Ofcourse ;-)
